Person to Person FFL Transfers- $59

Member Rate $35

Do you desire to or have you sold a personal firearm of yours? Do
want to be positive the buyer is not a prohibited person? The Bullet
Ranch offers the Federal Firearms License (FFL) transfer service to Ohio
residents for handguns, and US residents for long guns. Transferring
your firearm via the FFL transfer, which includes the FBI NICS
background check, protects both you as a seller, and your buyer.

What is a transfer? A firearm transfer, simply speaking, is the change
in possession of a firearm from an FFL to another FFL or a
person/customer (non-FFL). By definition, any changing of possession of
any item is transferring the item, however, the term “transfer,” when
used with firearms, almost always means processing the gun through an
FFL.

Since the Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA), firearms that travel interstate
(across state lines) must be transferred using a Federal Firearms
Licensee (FFL). This means that firearm transactions (gift, loan, sale,
etc.) that happen within the same state don’t require an FFL. It is
completely legal in the State of Ohio to sell your personal property to
any other legal person.

Prohibited persons include:

  • The Person has been convicted of, or is under indictment for:
    • A federal crime punishable by imprisonment for more than one
      year (typically a felony)

on the Minimum Age to Purchase and Possess Firearms.

applies when a person has been found incompetent to stand trial or not
guilty of a crime due to mental incapacity)
  • Has been involuntarily hospitalized or committed to a mental health
or substance abuse treatment facility by a court, board, commission, or

    child
  • Has been convicted of a misdemeanor offense of domestic violence
(For more detailed information on firearm restrictions—and gaps—related
to domestic violence, see our summary on Domestic Violence and
Firearms).Firearms to be transferred must be dropped off one business day before
the buyer wants to pick up. This 24 hour period allows us to run the
firearm thru the LEADS portal, log it into our ATF system, and have it
ready for transfer. We will call the buyer once the item is processed
and ready for pickup, even if the full business day has not passed yet.Questions? Email Sales@TheBulletRanch.Com or call 740-964-1787 during
