What is the extra $200 for?
Per the NFA act of 1934 the $200 stamp ( akin to $3800 in 2019 dollars )is required to register or “stamp” your item by the ATF for permission to own. The $200 was quite prohibitive for most citizens to purchase any NFA items at the time, and seen as a large deterrent. Today the $200 stamp fee goes to the DOJ general fund.
Is it a $200 tax stamp PER NFA item?
Yes, each individual item requires its own tax stamp. Whether it be a short barreled rifle ( SBR ), a suppressor, or a short barrelled shotgun ( SBS ) each item must be registered individually.
The suppressor I want is not in the case, can you get it?
Yes, The Bullet Ranch can special order you any suppressor you wish direct from the manufacturer. Just let any one of our staff members know what you wish to special order, and we will make it happen!
