2021 Summer Day Camp at The Bullet Ranch

The Bullet Ranch 2021 Kids Sumer Camp July 26th thru 29th

Kids from 8 to 15 are welcome to join us for our 4-day summer camp! This 4-day long day camp will be located at The Bullet Ranch!

The Bullet Ranch Summer Kids Camp dates are July 26th thru the 29th, from 9am to 4pm. The cost is only $449 and lunch and all materials (shotguns, pistols, rifles, ammo) for the camp are provided. Current members of The Bullet Ranch receive a $100 discount off the camp rate.

The Bullet Ranch is offers two different levels for our campers. “Ruger” level campers will be first time attendees or campers wishing to extend their basic knowledge of firearm safety and marksmanship. “Colt” level campers will be previous camp attendees or campers who already possess the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to attend to higher level clinics. Please see below for full level descriptions.

 

Ruger Campers Schedule:

Day 1 Monday

9:00am Campers arrive

9:15am Basic firearm course. Campers will learn firearm safety, firearm nomenclature, proper sight usage, proper shooting positions and range rules and operation. Campers can bring a firearm, but it is not required. The Bullet Ranch will supply pistols and rifles. All firearms MUST be in a case and checked into the front counter upon arrival. Basic Firearm course certificate awarded to campers upon completion.

12:00pm Lunch Break

1:30pm Rifle Range. Campers will shoot Ruger 10/22′s from multiple positions they learned in the morning session.

2:45pm Pistol Range. Campers will shoot Ruger Mark III’s using the skills they learned in the morning session.

4:00pm Campers ready for pickup. Campers are welcome to relax in the common area until transportation arrives.

 

Day 2 Tuesday

9:00am Campers arrive

9:15am 5 stand course. Campers will learn traditional trap/sporting clay practices, stance, hold, and aim. 5 stand range rules and regulations are covered, as well as shotgun and equipment maintenance. Campers can bring their own shotguns for use.

12:00pm Lunch break

1:30pm 5 Stand Course. Campers will shoot at different distances from the pavilion and also from our two 12-foot towers at multiple trap house targets.

4:00pm Campers ready for pickup. Campers are welcome to relax in the common area until transportation arrives.

 

Day 3 Wednesday

9:00am Campers arrive

9:15am Basic survival course. Campers will learn basic first aid, water collect and purification, shelter breaks, and how to build a fire from scratch.

12:00pm Lunch Break

1:30pm Compass course. Campers will be provided compasses and taught how to read a map using coordinates and directions. Utilizing our 5-acre property, The Bullet Ranch will hide “easter eggs” containing prizes for the campers to find once they use their newly acquired skills to locate them!

4:00pm Campers ready for pickup. Campers are welcome to relax in the common area until transportation arrives.

 

Day 4 Thursday

9:00am Campers arrive

9:15am 5 Stand Competition. Campers will compete using the skills they have acquired on the clay pigeon course. Trophies and prizes awarded to winners.

12:00pm Lunch Break

1:30pm Rifle Competition. Campers will compete on our indoor range using the skills they acquired in the basic firearm course. Trophies and prizes awarded to winners.

2:45pm Handgun Competition. Campers will compete in our indoor range using the skills they acquired in the basic firearm course. Trophies and prizes awarded to winners.

4:00pm Campers ready for pickup. Campers are welcome to relax in the common area until transportation arrives.

 

Colt Level Campers Schedule:

Day 1 Monday

9:00am Campers arrive

9:15am Basic Range Officer course. Campers will learn essential skills as to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations on both indoor and outdoor shooting ranges. A completion certificate will be issued to campers who show the knowledge, skill, and attitude necessary to run and operate a safe shooting range.

12:00pm Lunch Break

1:30pm Advanced Trauma Course. Colt level campers will partake in training relating to tourniquet application, wound closure, sutures, cauterizing, and basic CPR.

4:00pm Campers ready for pickup. Campers are welcome to relax in the common area until transportation arrives.

 

Day 2 Tuesday

9:00am Campers arrive

9:15am Use of Force Simulator training. Colt level campers will be presented with situational awareness simulations and utilize Glock 17 training firearms to enhance their decision-making abilities.

12:00pm Lunch break

1:30pm 5 stand shotgun course. Colt level campers will RO the Ruger level campers and ensure safety throughout the shooting relays. Colt level campers will then shoot themselves.

4:00pm Campers ready for pickup. Campers are welcome to relax in the common area until transportation arrives.

 

Day 3 Wednesday

9:00am Campers arrive

9:15am Basic Lockpicking. Colt level campers will learn the basic skills necessary to open several different popular locking mechanisms. All tools are provided, and Colt campers get to keep their pick set to practice with at home.

12:00pm Lunch Break

1:30pm Compass course team exercise. Colt level campers will be assigned a team of Ruger campers, and lead them through the compass course. Prizes are awarded for completion.

4:00pm Campers ready for pickup. Campers are welcome to relax in the common area until transportation arrives.

 

Day 4 Thursday

9:00am Campers arrive

9:15am 5 Stand Competition. Colt level campers will lead and RO the Ruger level campers in their competition, utilizing their knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to maintain and operate a safe shooting range.

12:00pm Lunch Break

1:30pm Rifle Competition. Colt level campers will lead and RO the Ruger level campers in their competition, utilizing their knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to maintain and operate a safe shooting range.

2:45pm Handgun Competition. Colt level campers will lead and RO the Ruger level campers in their competition, utilizing their knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to maintain and operate a safe shooting range.

4:00pm Campers ready for pickup. Campers are welcome to relax in the common area until transportation arrives.

 

*** Colt level campers will be expected to maintain the discipline level expected and needed to complete this 4-day immersion in running and operating a shooting range. Any Colt level camper not showing or maintaining the proper maturity level required to complete the program, will be dropped to Ruger level camper. All Colt level campers will sign a pledge document on Day 1 of camp, stating their understanding of the discipline required to complete this course.

 

Basic Information:

All campers MUST have a filled-out range waiver upon their arrival the first day. The Bullet Ranch will be providing burgers, hot dogs and chips for lunch every day. Bottled water will also be provided. If your camper has any dietary restrictions, we do have a refrigerator for them to bring a packed lunch. Vending is available in the viewing area for sodas and additional snacks if they so choose during the hourly breaks. The Bullet Ranch does NOT provide transportation nor overnight accommodations for this day camp. Any camper disrupting counselors or other campers, or deemed a safety risk, will be sent home immediately. Counselors provide warnings, but any risk will be immediately removed from the camp. Please consider your campers maturity level and how they act around others before committing to this summer day camp, no refunds are provided once camp begins.

This 4-day summer camp will be held partially indoors in our classroom, and a large portion outdoors on the 5 stand and compass course. Please have your campers dressed appropriately, including sturdy shoes and head gear.
